Sam Minkler, the Navajo that modeled for this sculpture was also the inspiration for the title. Sam shared a wealth of stories, information and experiences. But there always seemed to be some gem of information just below the surface that he would not tell. At times, he was being careful not to disclose the secrets of his native culture and traditions and at other times it was just his mysterious and playful personality.
